Liverpool (H)

This is one of the 3 'big' games we have left. Although every game that we now have is a big game. Liverpool are a team of ups and downs this season. Unfortunately they are currently on an up, they are fresh off beating Manchester City 3-0 on Monday night. We played them on the first game of the season and luckily grabbed a draw after a rare cock up from Reina. I'm gonna stop saying this after this post but this is a must win as is every game now.

We have mixed fortunes against Liverpool but in recent years draws seem to be the way the game pans out. The memorable 4-4 at Anfield with Arshavin scoring 4 sticking in the memory, however we did win 2-1 last season again with Arshavin scoring a beautiful strike. So who is likely to be in the squad on Sunday, well it appears that Szczesny may return, much to the relief of many fans (me included). Sagna is a major doubt for the game however good news as Djourou and Song return to the squad. The midfield appears to be shaping up as Song, Wilshere, Nasri, Fabregas and Arshavin, with Van Persie playing the long striker as always.

As for Liverpool, they seem set to start the same line up that turned over Man city on Monday. With Carroll and Suarez upfront. Both are dangerous players, Carroll being the sort of player that can cause havoc to our defence. On the right Kuyt should never be under-estimated as a threat and he will work Clichy down the wing. At the back Skrtel is a classic hard-as-nails defender who will make it hard for our players to get through. His partner Carragher will also cause problems, now those of you who know me will undertsand my view on Carragher, being he's a dirty cheating prick. Controversial yes but thats what I think, that being said, age is catching up with him and his pace leaves a lot to be desired.

Closing the gap this weekend would give the team the much needed boost they need and along with that will set up the game against United in a few weeks nicely. Bearing in mind we also have Tottenham away on Wednesday the boost would definitely be helpful. On another note its nice to hear that Vermaelen has a good chance of making an appearance before te seasons close. So fingers crossed. Check back Tuesday for my pre-match report on the yids away.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool
