Tottenham Hotspur (A)

So there goes the title. Have to be honest I'm not surprised, although I am annoyed with the manner that it happened. I have to agree with Wenger in one sense, how 8 minutes became 11 is beyond me. I understand that there would be time added on for the penalty and the celebration but be serious thats about 30 seconds each. So that takes it to 99 minutes. So why didn't he blow the whistle after their free kick struck the wall, that was the chance they blew it. However I disagree when Wenger says that it wasn't a penalty, it clearly was. Yes Lucas stopped but Eboue practically dived on his back. There was no need to do it.

Anyway now that my rant about the weekend is over we have a chance to save some face by beating a strong Spurs side at the lane. It won't be easy as they need the points to get back into the Champions League (we're all hoping they wont) now although the title is technically still winable according to Arsene, its gone. As hard as he tries to convey the fact its still open, there is no doubt that the players will feel its gone. Now the Lane is a difficult place to go and get a result, the atmosphere is hostile and intimidating and Tottenham have had a decent season. Altough we don't let them forget we won the title there in 2004.

So what sort of team we will put out. Well amazingly according to our site we only have 2 players officially injured (I know, amazing): Vermaelen and Fabianski. Although Thomas is making progress Arsene has confirmed that he won't be available tomorrow. But Sagna returns so I would assume it will be a standard back four, then a 3 or 5 man midfield however you look at it with Wilshere, Fabregas and Song holding back and with Nasri and Walcott or Arshavin probably Theo.

I'm not particularly up to date with Tottenham injuries but we all know the players to watch out for now. Bale, Van Der Vaart, Lennon etc. Now their infamous keeper Gomes on the other hand is certainly a player of two halves. Sometimes he looks like a top class goalie then other he looks like a tit in a trance (Real Madrid). We can only hope he has a mare an we take the chances we get. I must admit I'm not confident of a win here it will be challenges especially being a midweek clash.

Time to save some face here lads. A win certainly would give the fans a much needed moral boost by giving us some bragging rights. Along with the fact that dropped points for them may lead them into the Europa League next season. But have we got what it takes?

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Arsenal
